CJYQ St. John’s NL 930 verification

CJYQ was the first North American medium wave station that I ever heard. It was in the spring of 1983, and CJYQ was a very frequent guest in our loudspeakers at that time. I sent several reception reports, but I never saw a response from the station.

Things have changed since then. The station is no longer the dominant station on its frequency in our corner of the world, although it can still be heard quite often by those who have opportunities to listen regularly. I have no such opportunities for the time being, but I happened to pick up CJYQ on a DXpedition to Lista in October this year. A new report was sent, and this time I received a reply. Brenda Silk sent me a nice e-mail where she confirmed my October 24, 2008 reception of CJYQ Radio Newfoundland. Thank you very much, Brenda!
