Today I received a nice letter from Misako Higaki at NHK in Matsuyama. In her letter, she confirmed my reception of NHK-2, Matsuyama, although she said that it was difficult to confirm my exact reception date, since they use the same automated identification announcement every day. Understandable, but actually I heard the station on October 21, 2007. Yet another KONG17 catch. Along with the letter was also a QSL card and a sticker.

Even October 19 gave a few interesting catches in Kongsfjord. A first time catch for me was KSRO Santa Rosa CA 1350. Heard with a station identification as they just should return back to Coast to coast AM, I decided to send away a report. Within a couple of hours I received a short but nice e-mail from Michelle Marques at the station, who kindly confirmed my reception. Thank you, Michelle!

Jim Muir, Account Executive at Churchill Media, the company which owns KZXR, just sent me a most appreciated e-mail in response to a follow-up. In his e-mail, he confirmed my October 17, 2007 reception of KZXR. As far as I know, the station was heard only once during the KONG17 DXpedition. Thank you, Mr. Muir.

Brief but friendly e-mail from Tommy Braaten, General Manager at KBUL, just confirmed my October 17, 2007 reception of that station. KBUL was frequently heard during KONG17, often with a strong and clear signal.

After a follow-up, I just received a nice e-mail from John Dehnel, Chief Engineer at KUTR Taylorsville UT. He confirmed my October 16 (October 17 UTC) 2007 reception of the station. KUTR was heard with a good signal for a little while that morning, and also on at least one other occasion during KONG17. According to Mr. Dehnel, KUTR operates with only 2500 watts during nighttime. First QSL to hit my various mailboxes in 2008! Thank you, Mr. Dehnel!
