One of the more unexpected catches during KONG17 was KWBY in Woodburn OR on 940 kHz. It surfaced with a good signal for a couple of minutes on October 17, 2007, before the Hawaiian station went back and drowned everything else on the frequency. :-)
When returning back from my Christmas vacation, one of the first things I had to do was to check my e-mail. And what did I find? Quite a lot, in fact, but the most interesting e-mail came from Ronald J. Dot’o Sr., Corporate Engineer for KWBY. In his long and friendly e-mail he confirmed my reception of the station, and also gave some information about the station and the sister stations. According to him, KWBY’s night-time power is only 200 watts! Well, 200 watts and some good reception conditions was enough for the signal to hit our antennas in Kongsfjord, anyway. :-) Thank you very much, Ronald!
