I have to admit that I am one of those people who normally turn off the radio or find another station to listen to as soon as they begin to broadcast sports programs. There are some exceptions, though. As a result of the DX activities, I cannot avoid listening to stations carrying sports programming now and then. Even though the program format could be even worse – they could have sent Radio Disney, for instance – I do not make my listening to such stations longer than necessary. A good ID on my minidisc or hard drive – and I find something less annoying to listen to.
Well, one day in October 2006 I spent some minutes listening to a station on 1420 kHz carrying ESPN. I expected it to be KKEA in Honolulu, and it was. This time I also caught a fully readable ID, I sent a reception report by e-mail, and some minutes ago I had the response; a most appreciated e-mail from Chris Fleck, programming Assistant, where he verified my reception. Thank you, Chris.
