New verifications - and not so new

Posted July 2nd, 2007 by TJ

It is time to summarize which verifications I have received since October 2006. Not many, to be honest, but my activity DX-wise hasn’t been very impressive either.

Anyhow - these are the verifications that have found their way to my mailbox and inbox since my last update in October 2006:

  • KRKO Everett WA ("NorthSound 1380"): Nice letter from President Andrew Skotdal confirming my October 2005 reception during KONG12. This was a response to a follow-up.
  • WBAP Fort Worth TX 820: Brief but nice and full data verification letter from Neal Peden, Director of Engineering, confirming my reception in October 2004 during KONG10. This was also a response to a follow-up.
  • KCNZ Cedar Falls IA 1650: E-mail with a verification letter attached from Janelle Rench, Office Manager, confirming my October 2006 reception during KONG15
  • KQMS redding CA 1400: Most welcome e-mail from Jim Bremer, Chief Engineer, confirming my October 2006 reception of this station during KONG15.
  • KFYR Bismarck ND 550: Nice e-mail from Program Director Ken Jameson confirmed my October 2006 reception. again a station heard during the KONG15 DXpedition.

And, not to forget, a couple of verifications from Japan have also found their way. I sent several reception reports to Japanese stations - mainly NHK but also a few private ones - in November, but so far only these two responses have been received: JOBB NHK-2 Osaka 828 and JORB NHK-2 Kochi 1152. A funny kind of DX, these NHK stations. I am planning a round of follow-ups to see if I can get a verification or two more. Anyhow, two verified NHK stations are two more than none, and they are of course highly appreciated. And just to add: both stations were logged during KONG15 in October 2006.

Btw, those wondering what the "test" in the title of the previous post referred to … I am testing a piece of software for offline blogging. The program is called Post2Blog, and it so far works quite well - except from a few accessibility issues (it could work better with screen reader software), but mainly I am able to figure out where I am and what I am doing.
