KUAI Eleele HI 720 verification

Mail (e-mail or “snail-mail”) from Hawaii does not reach me every
day. But it happens now and then, and it is always highly
welcome.
Some days ago I found a letter in my mailbox; a friendly letter
from Reggie DeRoos, program director at KUAI-720. In the letter,
Reggie DeRoos confirmed my October 17, 2005, reception of the
station, and also told about the station and the island of Kauai.
I want more letters like this one. :-)

braatveit.no soon history

For those of you who have accessed these pages by using the www.braatveit.no address, be aware that it for some time now only has worked as a web forward address to this one: www.braatveit.net. For some reasons I decided to discontinue the .no domain and use a .net domain instead for the future. The braatveit.no domain will no longer be in use by me at all from the beginning of June, 2006. After that, only www.braatveit.net will be valid, or www.braatveit.net/dx to get directly to this blog.

KOTZ Kotzebue AK 720 verification

Another most welcome e-mail found yesterday came from Pierre
Lonewolf, Chief Engineer at KOTZ in Kotzebue, AK. The station is
heard regularly in Kongsfjord, often with a superb signal, but
with it’s NPR programming it can be quite hard to catch a local
identification. Well, I heard it on October 18, 2005, when they
just had begun that day’s broadcast, and their locally produced
morning show was aired. Pierre Lonewolf kindly confirmed my
reception, and he also attached some photos of the transmitter
site and surroundings.

KMAX Colfax WA 840 verification

An e-mail from Gary Cummings, general manager at KMAX, was my next
finding among the e-mail messages that had arrived during my
absence. He confirmed my reception of that station on October 18, 2005, yet another of the many KONG13 loggings. Thanks to Bjarne Mjelde for helping me solve this one.

KZNS Salt Lake City UT 1280 verification

After having been away for a couple of days to visit friends, I
came home earlier today and began checking my e-mail. First
interesting finding was a nice message from Aric Vance, broadcast
engineer at the owner company of KZNS. He confirmed my October
17, 2005 reception of KZNS “The Zone”.

4QD Emerald 1548 verification

A nice e-mail from breakfast presenter at ABC Capricornia, David
J. Anderson arrived on May 10, confirming my reception on October
18 (UTC) 2005. This is the medium wave station from Australia
that I have reported, and I am very pleased with the quick
response to my report. Mr. Anderson said he would send a
verification by mail.

KDTH Dubuque IA 1370 verification

Just received a nice e-mail from Jerry Breitbach, Chief
Engineer at KDTH Dubuque IA, where he confirmed my October 15,
2005 reception of KDTH. In addition he also sent me some pictures
of their transmitter site, and some showing views of Dubuque. The
photos are a bit too large to be posted here I am afraid.

KRRZ Minot ND 1390 verification – Yet another new state

To finish off April and open a QSL rush (hopefully!) in May, I
received two e-mail responses to my reception report to KRRZ in
Minot, ND. First I found a friendly reply from GM Richard M
Stensby who confirmed my October 14, 2005 reception of the
station. Then, this afternoon another message arrived from Chief
Engineer Kurt D. Bart with an official QSL letter and data sheet
attached. This is yet again a new state for me – and the third
new state verified in less than a month.
