A friendly e-mail from Mike Diesel, morning host on Q91 Cat Country, today verified my October reception of the station. Mike says he will confirm correct reception reports and asked me to mention this for the DX community. Thank you, Mike. :-)

One single QSL has found it’s was through the traditional postal service recently. An envelope arrived last Saturday, January 21, with a nice and most wanted full data QSL card from NHK-2 Kanazawa, JOJB on 1386. I sent my report directly to the Kanazawa offices of NHK.

Not as much response to my reception reports recently, but three verifications have arrived in my mailbox. That is three more than none, and all verifications are of course highly appreciated. :-)
On January 15 a nice e-mail from Bob Long confirmed my reception of 600 CKBD Vancouver BC. Bob Long is the station’s webmaster, and I wrote to him after their official e-mail address didn’t work at that time.
On January 16 a very brief e-mail from Tim Fleming verified my reception of 1300 KGLO Mason City IA.
And on January 22 an e-mail arrived from programme presenter Jim Gabbert confirmed my reception of 810 KGO San Francisco CA. My second Californian station. I wrote directly to Jim Gabbert since it happened to be one of his shows I listened to.
Need I add that all stations were logged during KONG13? :-)

First verification received in 2006 came from a fairly common Minnesota station; 1130 KFAN in Minneapolis. Rob Goldberg, who is one of the Chief Engineers responsible for the 7 station Clear Channel cluster in Minneapolis, kindly verified my October reception of KFAN by e-mail this morning.

A quick note to bring the blog up to current status. Before 2005 became history, three more verifications found their way to my mailbox.
On December 27 I got a long and nice letter from 610 CKYL “YL Country”, Peace River AB.
Two days later, two envelopes from abroad had found their way to me. 920 KSRM Soldotna AK sent me a long and nice letter and a sticker, while 1290 KGVO Missoula MT sent me my report in return, with a handwritten confirmation on it. There are many ways to verify a reception report. :)
All three stations verified were stations I heard during KONG13 in October 2005.
