A few verifications over the last days

On December 14th, one verification found it’s way through the ordinary snailmail system to my mailbox; an envelope containing a nice verification card arrived from 940 CJGX Yorkton SK.
Also the e-mail brought me some more verifications that day. The first message I found came from 1270 KNWC Sioux Falls SD. This was the second e-mail I have received from that station, this time with some information about the station and it’s sister FM station attached. The next e-mail I found came from Dick Pust at 1240 KGY Olympia WA. He verified my October 18 reception of the station. It was a little bit of his morning show I picked up, and he told me that he has been doing the morning show on KGY for over 38 years. That’s quite unusual for a commercial station. He says that his show is the longest running show in the state of Washington.
Also the 15th brought me a verification by e-mail, this time from Patrick Nagle at 1230 CFFB Iqaluit NU. He verified my October 17 reception of that station, and also told that they occasionally receive reception reports from the Nordic countries, as well as from Scotland.
And since it’s Saturday today, there is still a chance that this week will bring more verifications …

1270 KNWC Sioux Falls SD verification

As I was finishing the previous blog entry, I heard the alert sound for new e-mail, and there it was: A message from Clayton Heeren, technical dir., who verified my October 16 reception of that station.

Some more verifications received

A few more verifications have arrived in my mailbox or in my e-mail inbox recently.
On November 15 I received a nice e-mail from Scott todd at 980 KKMS Richfield MN, verifying my October 15th reception.
November 21 brought two more verifications: A short (but positive) e-mail from 600 CJWW Saskatoon SK and a nice and friendly e-mail from Dan Butner at 1290 KPAY Chico CA.
November 23 brought me a verification by ordinary mail: 1480 WGVU Kentwood MI, with card, letter and a sticker.
November 28 arrived another verification from 980 KKMS, this time via ordinary mail. Thanks again to Scott Todd.
And yesterday, December 5, a nice and friendly e-mail arrived from Mike Everhart, confirming my October 15 reception of 750 KXL Portland OR.

1040 KLHT Honolulu HI verification

turned out to be next. A nice e-mail from traffic director Clifton Burchfield verified my October 15 reception of the station.

670 KPUA Hilo HI verified

E-mail is a great thing, and it makes things somewhat easier and faster now and then. This evening I received an e-mail from Chris Leonard, verifying my October 15 reception of 670 KPUA Hilo HI. I listened to that frequency for almost two hours, and ended up with a jingle and not much more. But the jingle was quite clear and recognizable – a report was sent – and now it is verified. 3rd Hawaii verification for me. And there are still a lot of recordings to listen to and reception reports to write, so what is next?

Last week’s verifications

After having participated in some conferences elsewhere in this country, I came home Wednesday the 9th and found an envelope with a logo and a Canadian stamp on it. It contained a standard QSL letter, filled in by hand, and a small sticker. All came from 1050 CJNB North Battleford SK. My first Canadian verification for a very long time …

KONG13 is now over

What a fantastic DXpedition it has been! I had to leave a few days before the DXpedition ended, since I had no more vacation left for this calendar year, but I picked a lot of interesting signals during the week I participated in KONG13 and I have a lot of reception reports to write during the coming weeks and months.

DX soundclips archive …

will soon be available again. I have just begun rebuilding its web pages, after having decided to restructure them. So far only two small audio clips of stations from Alaska are available, but much more to come. :-)
Until I get time to reformat the menu and put the right link in there, here is the address to the DX soundclips archive: www.nettpark.no/~tjb/dxarchive.htm
Enjoy!

Welcome

So – here we are, finally. :-) Well, actually, there is still a long way to go, but the journey has begun …
I have known this for a long time; I had to do something quite dramatic with my web site – to bring it more up-to-date and to make it more useful.
The plan for my web site is to have a blog on it, mainly related to my DX activities, but it will also contain info on what is new on this site. In addition, I will try to integrate several accessibility features in this website and use the website as an experimental place to learn how to use all the features of WordPress.
Well, time will show how this is going to develop. :-)
